Sove CPAP Clinic – COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing - Participant Information and Acknowledgement

Introduction

You are about to undergo a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing (Test), a screening tool to help detect COVID-19 in people without any symptoms. Anyone with symptoms should undergo the gold standard diagnostic PCR COVID-19 test.

The Test involves a nasal swab (using a small cotton bud) of both nostrils which is then placed into a chemical solution and the solution is tested on the receptacle, which displays result around 15-20 minutes after the swab is done.

These Tests are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and other local health authorities, and are commonly implemented by employers or other entities as a screening initiative to keep their employees, customers and other visitors safe. It is recommended that rapid antigen test are conducted at least twice a week to help quickly identify and isolate those who have COVID-19, including those without symptoms.

Information collection

We will need to collect your information in order to conduct the Test, including your personal details, presence of symptoms, physical health and exposure history.

Your test results may be provided over email, voicemail, or text messages (Result Messages) to the email addresses and/or device numbers you provide. These Result Messages are not encrypted. Additionally if someone obtains access to your devices, they could retrieve the Result Messages. If you result is positive, you MUST immediately obtain a PCR test from a local health testing site, isolate until a negative result is received and follow all public health guidelines.

We may be required to disclose information and results obtained from your Test to Federal, state and local governments or the TGA for audit or other regulatory purposes. Where your Test is requested and/or paid for by your employer or another third party, we will be providing your information and test results to your employer or that third party. We may engage consultants, third party software, personnel in affiliated entities to assist us in various aspects of the Test.
