Australia Recognises Vaccines From China And India For Returned Travellers November 2, 2021 Australia has now formally recognised two more vaccines – the BBIBP-CorV vaccine from China and the Covaxin vaccine from India. This has opened up the way for people vaccinated with either to establish their vaccination status when travelling to Australia. Both vaccines provide protection against COVID-19, and potentially reduce the likelihood of people transmitting the virus to others. The TGA has stated, “this will have significant impacts for the return of international students, and travel of skilled and unskilled workers to Australia.” All travellers need to provide an Australian-issued International COVID-19 Vaccination certificate to enter Australia, excluding children under the age of 12.
